App Marketing That Pays for Itself: Paying Users, Not Just Installs

Installs are easy to buy. Users who register, transact and subscribe are not. We run Google App Campaigns and Meta app ads for fintech, subscription, health & fitness and education apps — measured on what users do after the install.

In short: ConvertLab360 manages user acquisition for mobile apps on Google App Campaigns and Meta. We set up MMP and in-app event tracking first, filter install fraud, check ad-policy requirements for financial apps, and move bidding from installs to registrations, first transactions and subscriptions as soon as the data allows. It starts with a free App Growth Audit.

Where App Demand Is Growing

The app market has shifted. Users now spend more inside non-game apps than in games — which changes who is buying ads and what they optimize for.

App Categories We Work With

Categories where users pay or transact inside the app, so campaigns can be judged on revenue, not install volume.

Hands holding a smartphone and a bank card

Fintech & Banking

Neobanks, payments, wallets and investing apps. Optimized toward verified registration (KYC) and first transaction, with fraud control and financial-services policy checks per market.

Couple reviewing a loan app on a phone at home

Lending

Personal and consumer loan apps where policy allows. Ads, landing pages and store listings built to the disclosure rules of each country before any spend.

Person editing a photo on a tablet with a stylus

Subscription Utilities & AI Tools

Photo and video editors, scanners, productivity and AI apps. Trial-to-paid tracking and fast creative rotation for one of the fastest-growing categories.

Woman stretching at home with a fitness app on her phone

Health & Fitness

Workout, nutrition, sleep and meditation subscriptions. Seasonal peaks planned in advance; no medical claims and no targeting by health condition.

Student learning on a phone with headphones

Education & Languages

Language, test-prep and skills apps with longer paths to payment, so in-app events and cohorts matter more than install cost.

Courier handing a delivery order to a customer at the door

Local Service Apps

Booking, delivery and clinic apps that combine app campaigns with Search and local intent.

Why App Campaigns Stop Paying Off

Most app accounts we look at are buying installs. The problem is what happens after them.

Person signing up in a new app on a phone in the evening

Optimized for Installs Only

Install bidding finds the cheapest users — often the least likely to register, transact or subscribe.

In-App Events Not Sent to the Networks

If Google and Meta never see registrations or payments, they cannot learn which users are worth more.

Fraudulent Installs

Click spam and fake installs inflate results, especially in finance. Without filters, reports look better than reality.

iOS Measured Blind

Badly mapped SKAdNetwork / AdAttributionKit conversion values hide the events that matter on iOS.

Policy Disapprovals for Financial Apps

Missing disclosures, licenses or certifications get ads and sometimes accounts suspended.

Creative Fatigue

App campaigns burn through creatives fast. Without a steady testing plan, costs climb week after week.

How We Run App Campaigns

Five steps, in this order. Measurement and fraud control before scaling.

  1. App Growth Audit

We review your Google App Campaigns, Meta app ads, MMP setup, store listings and the last 60–90 days of installs against registrations, transactions and subscriptions.

  2. Tracking and Fraud Control

MMP or Firebase events mapped to registration, KYC, first transaction or trial and purchase; fraud filters on; iOS conversion values set up.

  3. Policy and Store Readiness

Financial-services rules for each market, required disclosures, and store listings that convert the traffic you pay for.

  4. Campaigns by Goal and Market

Separate campaigns for installs, in-app actions and value, by country and platform, with budgets moving toward the events that make money.

  5. Creative Testing and Scaling

A steady pipeline of video, image and playable-style concepts, weekly cohort reporting, and budget scaled on cost per paying user.

App Marketing Metrics That Actually Matter

Cost per install is where most reports stop. These are the numbers we report on.

A note on proof

Our app marketing work, including fintech, is covered by NDAs, so we don't publish client names or figures. We're happy to walk through the approach and anonymized results on a call. Our published case studies cover Google Ads, Microsoft Ads and TikTok for web and e-commerce.

App Marketing: Common Questions

Mostly fintech (banking, payments, lending, investing), subscription utilities and AI tools, health & fitness, and education apps. These are categories where users pay or transact inside the app, so campaigns can be optimized toward revenue rather than installs. We don't run gambling or betting apps.

Yes, but under NDA. App clients — especially in fintech — usually don't allow their numbers to be published, and we don't publish anonymized figures that could identify them. On a call we can walk through the approach and anonymized results in more detail. The free App Growth Audit shows what we find in your own account.

Start where the data allows. Google App Campaigns can optimize for installs, in-app actions or value. Install campaigns are cheap but bring many users who never register. Once your app sends enough in-app events to Google, moving bidding to registrations, first transactions or subscriptions usually brings better users for the same budget.

Because finance is one of the most targeted categories for install fraud. AppsFlyer's 2026 fraud report puts the Android fraud rate for finance apps around 31%, against about 7% for games. Without fraud filters in your MMP and a check of install-to-registration patterns, part of the budget pays for installs that were never real users.

Financial products are a restricted category. In the United States, for example, Google does not allow ads for personal loans with an APR of 36% or more, requires repayment terms of at least 61 days, and requires the maximum APR and a representative cost example to be disclosed. Many countries add licensing or certification requirements. We check the current policy for each market before launch.

For anything beyond a small test, yes. A mobile measurement partner attributes installs and in-app events across Google, Meta and other networks, filters fraud and handles iOS privacy frameworks. If you already use Firebase only, we can start with that and plan the MMP setup together.

Apple's privacy rules limit user-level tracking, so iOS results come through SKAdNetwork / AdAttributionKit with delays and less detail. Conversion values have to be mapped carefully so the most important in-app events are still visible to the ad networks.

No. Costs depend on your market, category, creatives, store listing and the in-app experience. What we commit to is clean tracking, fraud control, a testing plan and weekly reporting on installs, registrations, paying users and their cost.
