Quick answer

What does a Merchant Center Misrepresentation suspension mean?

Google may suspend a Merchant Center account when information about the business, products, pricing, availability, policies or checkout appears incomplete, inconsistent or misleading. Recovery depends on finding what Google actually flagged before a review is requested — not on the wording of the appeal.

For most violations Google first sends a warning with a 7- or 28-day window to fix the problem. Violations Google treats as egregious — for example false business identity, hidden fees, or not delivering paid-for items — can lead to a suspension without prior warning. While the account is suspended, your products stop appearing in Shopping ads and free listings.

Why it happens

Why Was Your Merchant Center Account Suspended?

Google rarely names the exact reason. These are the areas where Misrepresentation cases usually start — finding which one applies to your account is the hard part.

Missing policies

Policy pages that look complete to shoppers can still fall short of what Merchant Center expects.

Inconsistent business identity

Small differences in how your business appears in different places are enough for Google to lose trust.

Feed vs. page mismatches

Your feed and your storefront have to tell the same story — for every product, at every moment.

Hidden checkout costs

Unsupported claims

Low transparency

Google has to be confident about who is selling — the signals it looks for go beyond a Contact page.

Why Guess-and-Appeal Costs You in Google's Review Process

Every review request is slow and limited, and Google adds friction after each rejection. That is why we fix first and request a review once.

  1. Generic notices

The suspension notice rarely points to the exact page, setting or product at fault.

  2. Limited attempts

Each review request counts. Submitting before the real cause is fixed uses one up.

  3. ~7 business days each

Google asks you to wait about 7 business days per review — more weeks without Shopping ads.

  4. No shortcuts via support

Google support cannot speed up a review or lift a cool-down.

  5. Cool-down risk

After a second failed attempt a one-week cool-down may start, and it can grow with each rejection.

Who does the work

Why Work With ConvertLab360?

We run Shopping and Performance Max for e-commerce, so we read a suspension the way Google's systems see your store: feed, landing page, checkout, and business identity together.

Marketing specialist analysing store and product data on two monitors

We Understand the Advertising Side

Our review considers the suspension message together with the shopping experience, product information, and advertising setup.

We Look Beyond the Appeal Button

Repeated requests without fixing underlying issues can waste review opportunities. We fix first, then ask Google to review.

Clear Pricing and Shared Responsibility

You'll know what our team handles, which changes need your involvement, and when your second payment becomes due.

No False Promises

We don't claim special access to Google or promise guaranteed approval.

No Shortcuts Around Google's Rules

No replacement accounts or workarounds. We decline cases involving prohibited products, deceptive practices, or unverifiable business information.

We Never Ask for Passwords

Access goes through user permissions you grant, and verification documents go to Google through Merchant Center — not through us.

FAQ

Merchant Center Suspension FAQ

Can you guarantee my Merchant Center account will be reinstated?

No. Google makes all reinstatement decisions independently. We help identify issues, implement agreed corrections, and prepare review requests.

What if Google rejects my review request?

We assess the outcome and assist with up to two additional eligible review requests at no extra service fee, subject to Google's review availability, required waiting periods, and our agreed service terms.

How long does reinstatement take?

It depends on your store, the issues involved, the corrections required, and Google's processing times. Google's Merchant Center Help says to wait 7 business days after requesting a review, and some reviews take longer. We cannot guarantee a completion date.

Do you make changes to my website?

Yes, for agreed corrections within the service scope. Some changes may require your developer, store administrator, or business owner. We provide instructions for those changes.

What if my account was rejected several times before contacting you?

We can assess previously rejected accounts. Prior appeals, cool-down periods, and account eligibility may affect the recovery options available. Google's Help notes that a cool-down can begin after unsuccessful review attempts and that Google support cannot shorten it.

What if my account is not reinstated?

The initial $250 remains non-refundable under the service terms, and the remaining $250 is not charged. Any eligible additional reviews covered by the agreement are handled without another service fee.

Do I need to verify my identity before requesting a review?

Often, yes, for Misrepresentation cases. We check whether it applies to your account and when it fits into the recovery plan. Documents go to Google only through Merchant Center. We never ask for your passwords.

Should I just open a new Merchant Center account?

We don't help create replacement accounts to get around a suspension. We work only on fixing the suspended account and requesting a review through Google's official process.

Do you work with Shopify, WooCommerce, and other platforms?

Yes. We assess Merchant Center issues across different e-commerce platforms. Technical implementation depends on the platform and the agreed scope.
