Ten Products. None of Them on Google Shopping.
Google suspended the store's Merchant Center account for Misrepresentation — the policy Google uses when it decides shoppers may not get honest, complete information about a business, its products or its terms.
A suspension covers the whole account, so the size of the catalog made no difference: all ten handbags went to Not approved and the store had nothing showing in Shopping ads or free listings until Google approved a review of the corrected store.
Fix What Google Sees. Then Ask for a Review.
Misrepresentation is about trust, so we checked whether a shopper — and Google's reviewer — gets the same clear, consistent picture of the business on the website, on every product page and in the Merchant Center account.
Audit of the Store and the Merchant Center Account
We went through the Shopify store and the Merchant Center account side by side and found several inconsistencies that could stop the store from passing Google's review.
Website Information Brought Up to Date
Together with the client we worked through each issue and updated the information on the website, so shoppers and Google's reviewer see a complete, current picture of the business.
Changes to the Product Pages
The necessary changes went into the product pages themselves, so each handbag's page and the data Google reads about it match.
Store Settings Aligned with Merchant Center
We aligned the store's settings with Merchant Center requirements. Once everything was in place, the store went back to Google for review.
Not Approved to Approved, in the Account Itself
The chart below is the product status history from the client's own Merchant Center account, cropped to the chart; account details are not shown.
Red — Not approved while the account was suspended; green — Approved for all 10 products after Google's review of the corrected store.
